What Is Energy Trust of Oregon?
Definition
Energy Trust of Oregon is the nonprofit that administers cash incentives for energy-efficient equipment (heat pumps, water heaters, furnaces, insulation) on behalf of Oregon's investor-owned utilities — PGE, Pacific Power, NW Natural, Cascade Natural Gas, and Avista — funded by a public purpose charge on customer bills.
Why it matters for your home
Energy Trust's programs are the deepest incentive stack currently available in Oregon, from a $1,600 gas furnace rebate to $1,000-$3,000 heat pump incentives, and Oregon Department of Energy programs can layer on top when funding allows.
What to do about it
Confirm which utility actually serves your address before assuming eligibility — Energy Trust's electric incentives require PGE or Pacific Power service specifically, and don't apply inside some municipal or co-op utility territories.
