Which call do you make first?
- Smell gas? Leave the building first — don't flip switches or use a phone inside — then call NW Natural at 800-882-3377 or 911 from outside.
- Whole neighborhood dark? That's your electric utility — find yours below and report it. Stay far from downed lines and report those immediately.
- Just your house — no heat, no cooling, breaker won't hold, burning smell at a vent? That's us. Call (503) 442-5964. Not sure it's an emergency? Run the two-minute troubleshooter first.

NW NaturalCall 811 before any digging
Setting a heat pump pad, running a gas line, trenching a line-set to a detached shop — any digging legally requires an Oregon 811 locate request at least two full business days before you break ground (and marks stay valid 45 days). There's no charge; utilities come out and paint the buried lines. We file locates on every job that needs one.
