Ways to Avoid Creating Hot and Cold Spots In Your Home

Your cooling and heating system helps you feel cooler or warmer as needed. But you may notice that some particular areas feel warmer or colder than others. Understanding exactly what causes this to happen and knowing what you can do to avoid it from happening can help you to keep your residence feeling a lot more comfortable throughout the different seasons.

Replace HVAC Filters

Preventing hot and cold spots from forming in your home could be as simple as changing your HVAC filter. The filter in your HAVC system traps fragments and stops them from infiltrating your home's interior air. This leads to HVAC filters that are covered with dirt and other particles over time. When filters are coated with these particles, they stop working properly. This can trigger your HVAC system to run all day or even work harder to keep your house warm in the winter months, which can cause even more damage. Replacing your HVAC filter with a new one helps ensure that your HVAC system can function as it should to warm your house more evenly.

Inspect Your Airflow

Air should have the ability to flow through vents and ducts with no blockages. Clogged or damaged air ducts can influence air movement, making it more challenging to preserve even temperature levels throughout your home. Having furniture or other large objects in front of vents also prevents air from moving freely.

Add Insulation if Needed

Insulation keeps your home warm in the colder months and cool in the warmer months. If some areas in your house feel colder than others, you should inspect to see if you have enough insulation in that area. You might need to add insulation to areas that tend to get colder than others, even when it's warm outside. Keep in mind that proper insulation can help you to warm up your residence a lot more efficiently all winter.

Check Your HVAC Dimensions

Is your HVAC system the best size for your house size? If parts of your house feel cooler than others in the winter months, you might have a system that's too small for your heating requirements. Have an HVAC specialist help you figure out if your HVAC system is correctly sized for your home. Keep in mind that area control systems can help you to control the temperature levels in various parts of your home better.

Use Ceiling Fans

Ceiling fans aren't just for staying cooler in the summer season. You can turn ceiling fans on to ensure that they run clockwise in the winter months. They disperse heated air a lot more evenly in spaces, which can get rid of cold and hot spots.

Been using them for years after the owner Kevin showed up so fast when our furnace went out one year. Been a fan since! Now, Danny is so great to work with, also. So friendly, knowledgable, fast. You guys are the best!

Danny came out on a Saturday to diagnosis and fix my mom’s hvac unit.   He was able to quickly determine what the problem was and had all the parts to complete the repair right then.  His communication was clear and did a really good job helping us understand what caused the issue.  I would definitely recommend him and will be calling his company with any needs in the future. Thanks again!

Fantastic customer service! I had a furnace issue, called late morning and they fit me in for diagnostic right away. Technician was extremely knowledgable, walked me thru everything he found - unfortunately needed a new furnace (was 24 years old anyways), got it scheduled and installed within 24 hours as everything was in the warehouse (probably got lucky on what we needed). Overall excellent customer service, from scheduling to diagnostic, to installation. Highly recommend.

WOW! So impressed with so many aspects of this company. We had an animal die under the house in and could smell it coming out of the vents. When I called around, pest control was weeks out and Best Owner Direct was able to come the next day. Our technician, Danny was absolutely INCREDIBLE! Very professional, kind and made sure we had the problem taken care of the same day so we could breathe again! I look forward to continuing to work with them in the future for our HVAC needs.

Daniel was excellent, attentive to detail and committed to completing all tasks other installers overlooked. He worked tirelessly into the evening making sure everything was working properly with a water heather install, and he had a great attitude all along.

Excellent customer service, great communications answering all of our questions, left the site clean, and very respectful of our space within the house. Arranged to have someone come from the office later in the week to explain how the thermostat works.
